Youth across Mexico City get ready for "Sinergia mode" as Radio IPN and public university radio stations host the upcoming alternative music showcase on October 24 and 25 at Cenart.
Youth across Mexico City will have the opportunity to engage with their favorite alternative and independent music acts at the Sinergia 2026 All-Radio Festival (Festival de Todas las Radios Sinergia 2026), an initiative established by Radio IPN alongside a network of public university radio stations.
The two-day musical gathering will take place on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, at the National Center for the Arts (Centro Nacional de las Artes, Cenart). For its fourth edition, the festival will feature the acclaimed Spanish band Calequi y Las Panteras as its special international guest.
Speaking at a press conference, Director of Radio IPN Enrique Anzures Becerril emphasized that the festival represents the culmination of a collaborative effort among public university stations, noting how the event has evolved into a vital cultural and artistic hub for higher education institutions nationwide.
He maintained that Sinergia provides a high-visibility platform for emerging and independent bands to showcase their talent to young audiences, highlighting that the inclusion of Spain's alternative music scene marks an important milestone in the festival's international expansion.
Anzures expressed his gratitude to IPN Director General Arturo Reyes Sandoval for steadfastly supporting the initiative and promoting musical culture among students across various educational institutions.
He also thanked Cenart for serving as a launchpad for emerging talent, whose live performances will be broadcast nationwide over the two-day event across the public university radio network.
Speaking at the launch, María de las Mercedes Olivares Tresgallo, representative of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, stated that young music fans are officially "entering Sinergia mode" for this signature alternative music event.
Highlighting the unifying social power of radio, she encouraged organizers to incorporate community and indigenous radio stations in future editions to continue broadening the festival's cultural and regional reach.
The 2026 lineup features live performances by Electrify, Los Choclok, Ximbo, Los Perros Mugrosos, Point Decster, Junos Dandelion, Nunca Fuimos Listos, Oliven Twins, Temo Dejar de Ser, and Beyond the Sound. Band members present at the press conference underscored the significance of Sinergia consolidating its role as an accelerator for national and international musical talent.
The festival launch was attended by key figures from public media, including Moisés González, producer and host at Interferencia (Mexican Radio Institute, IMER); Sofía Garfias, Director of Ibero 90.9; Gustavo Tello, Institutional Voice and Producer at Radio Anáhuac; Verónica Veloz, Director of UAM Radio; Israel Pompa Alcalá, General Director of Código 21 Radio; and Rodrigo Collado, Head of the Coordination Office at Cenart, among other distinguished station leaders.
