"Where others see challenges they cannot resolve, polytechnic students and professionals see solutions by creating innovations that provide answers to many needs," stated Arturo Reyes Sandoval, the General Director of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, during the inauguration of the IPN 2023 Hackathon.

The event, held at the gymnasium of the Centro de Estudios Científicos y Tecnológicos (CECyT) 13 "Ricardo Flores Magón," emphasized that this educational institution has, throughout its history, contributed to the transformation of the country and Mexico City.

He recalled that the Metrobús Transportation System originated from the ingenuity of polytechnic students and professionals from the Unidad Profesional Interdisciplinaria de Ingeniería y Ciencias Sociales y Administrativas (UPIICSA).

He also highlighted the participation of polytechnic experts in the transition from analog to digital television, as well as the creation of the sequential trichromatic field system, better known as color television, by a distinguished polytechnic, Engineer Guillermo González Camarena.

He explained that the Hackathon strengthens the attributes and skills of the high school-level youth, where they receive the necessary knowledge to ensure a contribution to the scientific and technological development of the country. "We promote skills and competencies in human development, in accordance with the principles of social responsibility and sustainability," he emphasized.

He announced that this competition will generate 20 projects from participating teams, with the top four being incorporated into the Project Aula platform. "We work to produce professional profiles that apply their technical knowledge to achieve real benefits for society," he concluded.

Prior to this, the Academic Secretary of the IPN, Mauricio Igor Jasso Zaranda, reported that around 180 students from the 20 CECyT centers will participate in the Third Hackathon-Project Aula. They have taken on the challenge of working against the clock (36 hours) to propose innovative and creative solutions to enhance security in their institutions through the use of Artificial Intelligence.

He wished the participants good luck and asked them to always remember to apply the knowledge they have gained in various learning units and workshops to offer solutions to the issues that affect the world, the country, and the institution.
