• The Mexicans come from Baja California, Mexico City, Chiapas, Jalisco, San Luis Potosi, Sonora and Veracruz.
• Others are studying at universities in Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Spain, France, Italy, Panama, Peru, and El Salvador.
• They are part of the Academic Mobility Program from January-June 2023.
The Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) received 83 students from national and foreign universities as part of the Academic Mobility Program from January-June 2023.
In this edition of the program, 15 students from the states of Baja California, Mexico City, Chiapas, Jalisco, San Luis Potosí, Sonora, and Veracruz, 22 students from Colombia, 16 from France, 8 from Spain, 6 from El Salvador, 5 from Peru, 4 from Chile, 3 from Italy, 3 from Panama and one from Bolivia joined to the IPN.
Among the educational institutions they come from are the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Universidad Veracruzana (UV), and Universidad de Guadalajara (UdeG); from abroad: Université de Rouen Normandie, France; Instituto Tecnológico Metropolitano from Colombia; Universidad del País Vasco in Spain, and Universidad Don Bosco in El Salvador.
The most visited academic units of the IPN, both by national and foreign students, are: Unidad Profesional Interdisciplinaria de Biotecnología (UPIBI); Escuela Superior de Ingeniería Mecánica y Eléctrica (ESIME), Unidad Ticomán; Escuela Nacional de Ciencias Biológicas (ENCB) and the Unidad Profesional Interdisciplinaria en Ingeniería y Tecnologías Avanzadas (UPIITA).
In welcoming the young people, the General Director of the IPN, Arturo Reyes Sandoval, emphasized that the Politécnico has strengthened its internationalization and in 87 years of history has built bridges between Mexico and the world, enriching the institution through the exchange of knowledge, languages, traditions, and values.
He recalled that in 2022 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) distinguished him with the presidency of the French-Mexican Strategic Council (CEFM) Mexico Chapter, with which the IPN has strengthened its interaction, both with educational institutions and with French companies that have established themselves in Mexico and produce aircraft on a global scale.
Reyes Sandoval affirmed to the young people that Politécnico is an institution with an enrollment of 220,000 students and an enviable infrastructure, in addition to high-quality postgraduate programs, recognized nationally and internationally.
"You have made a courageous and fundamental decision to come to the Politécnico. From now on you are the new ambassadors who will spread its greatness. You will return to your place of origin with an integral growth that will motivate you to put: The technique at the service of the Fatherland", he concluded.
The Secretary of Innovation and Social Integration of the IPN, Ricardo Monterrubio López, highlighted the importance of the internationalization of the Polytechnic and informed that today national and foreign students who will attend the 2023-1 semester in 21 academic units of this house of studies are being received.
The students from the Universidad Estatal de Sonora, Areli Nohemí García Lomelí and from the Instituto Tecnológico Metropolitano from Colombia, Yolanda Marisella Arias Giraldo, agreed that the Politécnico will allow the young people who begin this experience to grow integrally, with quality infrastructure, to acquire new knowledge.
