From Aspiration to Pride in Being a Polytechnic

With the "Mambo del Politécnico" playing in the background and surrounded by hundreds of high school students, the General Director of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, Arturo Reyes Sandoval, toured the 2024 High School Profesiográfica Expo, a vocational orientation celebration that welcomes those who seek to be part of the history of academic excellence of the IPN and proudly wears the cherry red and white colors.

Under the motto "La vuelta al mundo en 52 unidades académicas," - in honor of the French writer, poet, and playwright Jules Verne - this polytechnic event is a first approach with students who are about to finish high school, to accompany them in one of the decisions that will shape their lives in the coming years.

In the "Lázaro Cárdenas" Plaza, - where five multicolored pavilions were set up to host the stands for the 16 Centros de Estudios Científicos y Tecnológicos (CECyT), the Centro de Estudios Tecnológicos "Walter Cross Buchanan" (CET 1), and 3 foreign units located in Hidalgo, León, and Zacatecas - Reyes Sandoval greeted outstanding students from these schools.

During the tour, the polytechnic students presented the IPN director with prototypes such as robotic arms, electrical circuits, nutritious foods, solar cells, electric vehicles, and a device for heart rate monitoring, as well as construction projects, among others, which they develop as part of their academic training.

Accompanied by directors of the academic units, Reyes Sandoval congratulated the new polytechnic talents, while expressing the pride that the IPN authorities have in knowing the creativity and determination of those who will become scientists and professionals who will bring honor to the name of the Politécnico and Mexico in the future.
