The Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) participated in the Fifty-Seventh Ordinary Plenary Meeting of the National Council of Educational Authorities (Conaedu), held in Cancun, Quintana Roo, where strategies were refined to strengthen the transformation of the education sector in all entities of the country.

During the Conaedu proceedings, the Secretaria de Educación Pública, Leticia Ramírez Amaya, expressed gratitude to the General Director of IPN, Arturo Reyes Sandoval, for his attendance at this meeting. She also stated that "it is time to make history and embrace the transformation of Mexico."

In this gathering, which involved authorities from the entities responsible for the future of education in Mexico, the highest educational authority of the country highlighted the progress that the Fourth Transformation has been building for a little over four years.

"We are transforming education to build a more humane nation with solid ethical principles, free from discrimination and exclusion. We reaffirm and promote respect for others and work based on trust and dialogue that facilitates agreements and collaboration, and promotes the development of strong, free, and just societies," she emphasized.

"Education, a path towards peace."

The federal official stated that education is the true path to contribute to a peaceful national coexistence, characterized by civic engagement, freedom, peace, well-being, and security, where everyone is included without distinction, with dignity. With the work carried out day by day, she indicated that they are contributing to the construction of a better country.

In turn, the Governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama Espinosa, expressed gratitude for holding this meeting in the most important tourist destination in Latin America, where the Tren Maya (Maya Train) is being built, the most significant railway project worldwide. "There is no project of this magnitude anywhere in the world, with 1,554 km of tracks; we will have eight stations and three stops along the route, where most of the train project will pass through," she emphasized.

She commented that this project is a matter of social justice because it aims to reduce the inequality gaps between the North and the South. "We are much more than sun and beach, and the Tren Maya will provide us with the opportunity for people to visit and get to know these wonderful states and generate prosperity," she added.

It was reported that the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, approved the project to offer the Railway Technician program starting in August at the Conalep campuses in Chetumal and Cancun.

"The opportunity for them to study the Railway Technician program is to provide them with a better quality of life and prevent them from leaving their municipalities. For the first time in the history of this country, we will have the Railway Technician program, offering a ray of hope to many young people," he assured.

Governor Lezama Espinosa affirmed that her government is working hand in hand with SEP and mentioned the need to adapt the educational model in her state to the demands of the labor market. She emphasized that the State Development Program focuses on connectivity, the strengthening of the Mayan language, and the promotion of women's participation in science, among other topics.
