The Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) and the Toluca International Airport (AIT) signed a General Collaboration Agreement, through which this university will contribute its greatest strength in technological development & aeronautical research.

The General Director of the IPN, Arturo Reyes Sandoval, and the airport administrator of the AIT, Hugo Alberto Delgado Ortega, signed the document, which establishes that the Politécnico will contribute to the airport through its students and graduates trained in careers related to the aerospace sector.

It is important to note that the IPN offers training in the field of aeronautics at four Centros de Estudios Científicos y Tecnológicos (CECyT), the Escuela Superior de Ingeniería Mecánica y Eléctrica(ESIME) Ticomán Unit and the Unidad Profesional Interdisciplinaria de Ingeniería Campus Guanajuato (UPIIG).

At the ceremony - held at the AIT facilities, one of the top five cargo airports in the country and leader in Latin America in business aviation traffic - Reyes Sandoval said that the Politécnico has cemented Mexico's aeronautical sector and this alliance with the AIT is part of the boost that the IPN offers to the industry.

"The strength of this university is its 4,000 students, who are trained in technical, engineering, and postgraduate degrees in aeronautics, who have the best facilities and infrastructure such as hangars, planes, and helicopters," he stressed.

He detailed that this agreement integrates mutually beneficial actions such as the provision of social service and professional internships by Polytechnic students, an indispensable element in their training to give back to society for the educational services received.

"Our students carry within their knowledge, skills, and abilities the trajectory that the Politécnico has forged as a pioneer in the aerospace sector. Rest assured that you will have future professionals of excellence, who are committed to putting 'La Técnica al Servicio de la Patria,'" he emphasized.

At the same time, the General Director and Airport Administrator of AIT, Hugo Alberto Delgado Ortega, stated that this agreement is anchored in the vision and will of both institutions to bring economic and administrative projects in various branches of engineering, social development, and the environment to the business and labor world.
