Creation Agreements of Ceprobi, Citedi, and CIIDIR Units in Oaxaca, Michoacán, and Durango

In commemoration of the fortieth anniversary of the publication of the creation agreements of the Centro de Desarrollo de Productos Bióticos (Ceprobi), the Investigación y Desarrollo de Tecnología Digital(Citedi), and the e Interdisciplinarios de Investigación para el Desarrollo Integral Regional (CIIDIR) units in Oaxaca, Michoacán, and Durango, we present to you issue number 8 of the Gaceta Politécnica, corresponding to the March-April 1984 bimester, which on pages 12 to 16 mentions the agreements approved and signed by the then General Director of the Politécnico, Manuel Garza Caballero.

This issue of the Gaceta Politécnica is a historical testimony to the launch of these research centers, which were the result of the efforts undertaken by the IPN in the 1970s to decentralize basic and applied research, as well as the postgraduate education it offered. These high-level centers were established in strategic locations across the country to support the productive activities of those regions and generate technological developments capable of meeting their needs.

In the publication, we can also read about the objectives, functions, and organization with which each of them was created; it also states that the creation agreements will come into effect on the day of their publication.

After 40 years, we celebrate that these research centers fulfill their purpose of developing regional scientific and technological research, as well as training human resources in these entities.

This issue is part of the Gaceta Politécnica series, which can be consulted in digital format at the Historical Archive of the IPN. For more information: Presidency of the Deanery of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, telephone 5729 6000, extensions 63054 and 63057; email consultaah@ipn.mx
