Sports Improvements at CECyT 9

With contributions from parents and the support of Fundación Politécnico, a dome, and a soccer field were achieved.

To promote physical activity, foster healthy social interaction, and enhance the holistic education of young people, a dome and a soccer field were delivered to the student community of the Centro de Estudios Científicos y Tecnológicos (CECyT) 9 "Juan de Dios Bátiz".

During the inauguration ceremony, the General Director of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) announced that the dome - which covers two basketball courts - and the soccer space were made possible through donations from parents, in addition to the support of Fundación Politécnico.

In these facilities, students from CECyT 9 will be able to engage in various activities protected from weather conditions and develop their physical and social capabilities and skills, which are crucial during this youthful stage, emphasized the director.

The project also included the remodeling of three courts, synthetic turf, boards, and special coatings, areas that were immediately occupied by basketball, volleyball, and soccer teams upon their opening.

In addition to its academic excellence, CECyT 9 has achieved sporting successes, such as the performance of the basketball team in the Macro Regional Tournament of the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sport (Conade); in taekwondo with first place for the Conade 2024 nationals and victories in flag football, as well as in the Interpolytechnic meetings 2023.
