For the twenty-seventh time, the talent of the students at the Escuela Superior de Cómputo was showcased at Expo Escom with the exhibition of 100 projects in the fields of computer science, algorithm development for search and optimization, artificial intelligence, pattern recognition, speech processing, image analysis, and data science, among others.
Over two days of activities, 420 young individuals, guided by 200 instructors, presented their developments, which have the potential to become terminal or graduation projects, and even scale up to attain a patent and serve as a product for technological transfer.
In the context of this event, the fifteenth edition of "Job Forums" was held, serving as a meeting space with technology companies that guide the academic world regarding the profiles required by the industry. The 30 participating companies offered openings for the educational community of Escom.
Upon inaugurating the activities, the campus director, Andrés Ortigoza Campos, expressed that Expo Escom showcases the students' capacity for innovation and creativity. It also reaffirms that their education in the polytechnic classrooms is of excellence.
He stressed that the connection with the productive sector has a significant impact on the future professionals as the work environment will provide them with greater expertise. "Have confidence that you are receiving a good preparation, which will be complemented during your professional performance in the industry, where you will learn even more."
He highlighted the impact of learning groups outside the classroom, which equip them with greater competencies to successfully navigate the job market. Lastly, the director of Escom emphasized the commitment of the teaching community, assigned to 11 academies, guiding the students in the completion of their projects throughout the semester.
