ESIME celebrates five decades of contributing to the national industry

The Escuela Superior de Ingeniería Mecánica y Eléctrica (ESIME), part of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN), acknowledged the graduates of the Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering programs, class of 1969-1973, and unveiled the respective commemorative plaques.

There were separate ceremonies, characterized by camaraderie, jubilation, nostalgia, and memories of a generation that graduated five decades ago. They were witnesses to the industry's changes, the evolution of electronics, and the beginning of technological advancements, the era of automation, and the Third Industrial Revolution.

Accompanied by their families, those present observed a minute of silence in honor of those who have passed away. Subsequently, they gave an applause because, in the practice of their profession, they faithfully fulfilled the mission and values they learned during their time in the leading and exemplary school in the education of engineers.

Directors and representatives from the four academic units that make up ESIME: Zacatenco, Ticomán, Culhuacán, and Azcapotzalco, emphasized that far from being in competition, they are a single school made up of individuals dedicated to different disciplines, but united by the green and white.

The Electrical Engineering graduates made a donation of tools to the school and sponsored the Energy Conversion Laboratory. Meanwhile, the representative of Mechanical Engineering stressed that each member of the class of 1969-1973 had a dream, and that dream became a way of life.
