In the context of a meeting aimed at further strengthening the ties between the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) and the state of Guanajuato, the Secretary of Education of the state, Jorge Enrique Hernández Meza, and the director of IPN, Arturo Reyes Sandoval, continue to work on the creation of the Aerospace Development Center, which will boost research and the economy in the region.
With a commitment to cooperation, Dr. Reyes Sandoval, along with secretaries from the Institute, expressed their enthusiasm for strengthening the connections with the state, where the presence of the Polytechnic has brought substantial benefits.
During the meeting, discussions also revolved around the possibility of expanding the coverage of the Vocational School in León to a double shift. "This Vocational School has transformed the lives of this community of 100,000 inhabitants, a community facing certain challenges and conflicts. Moreover, the Vocational School is housed in a beautiful, imposing building that immediately inspires young people to make something different out of their lives, and that has happened with thousands of young students," stated the Secretary of Education of Guanajuato.
Cultural cooperation was not left behind. Firstly, an invitation was extended once again, as in the previous year, for the IPN Philharmonic Orchestra to participate in the Cervantino Festival. Secondly, a joint project of an Otomí-language book, nearly ready for printing, was discussed.
"For many years, the Politécnico has been a factor of growth and development for us. It continues to support us and plays a crucial role in the development of the state of Guanajuato. It is strategically located in well-selected areas of the region," noted Hernández Meza.
The state official also mentioned that due to the impressive results achieved, there is consideration of opening a new Vocational School in Celaya. He expressed gratitude towards the Politécnico, "this noble institution that has given hope to Guanajuato and Mexico for many years."
