The Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) and Section 60 of the Sindicato Nacional de Trabajadores de la Educación (SNTE), with the support of the Polytechnic Foundation, A.C., delivered three thousand laptops to teachers with classroom activities at the upper secondary, higher education, and postgraduate levels.

From 2021 to the present, this educational institution has provided seven thousand computing devices, benefiting 100 percent of teachers. Additionally, for the first time, technological tools were provided to academic staff under temporary contracts.

Through the Joint Paritarian Commission for Laptops of Section 60 of the union, guidelines were established for the distribution of equipment to teachers at the upper secondary and higher education levels, as well as criteria for strengthening scientific research and technological development.

During the Program for Strengthening Academic Staff ceremony, the General Director of IPN, Arturo Reyes Sandoval, emphasized that teachers are the engine and soul of the Institute. Through the transmission of their knowledge in the classrooms, this educational institution has remained a benchmark in scientific and technological education in the country and internationally.

He added that these actions will enhance the work carried out by teachers for the benefit of polytechnic students, while also allowing for better use of educational spaces.

Reyes Sandoval mentioned that it is the first time laptops are being provided to teachers on temporary contracts with classroom duties, who also require these technological tools.

The head of IPN urged the beneficiaries to promote the responsible and safe use of new technologies and to use them to enhance the human capacities and knowledge of the students of this institution.

In his remarks, the Secretary of Administration, Javier Tapia Santoyo, mentioned that since the program's implementation in 2011, a total of 13,720 computing devices have been delivered.

The event was attended by the General Secretary of Section 60 of the SNTE, Carlos Gómez Rodríguez, and, representing the General Secretary of the union, Alfonso Cepeda Salas, the Secretary of Administration and Finance of the National Executive Committee of the SNTE, José García Mora.
