The Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) and the Technological Institute of Teléfonos de México (Inttelmex) have renewed a collaboration agreement to offer continuing education programs such as diplomas and workshops. The agreement also provides degree completion options through knowledge exams, postgraduate credits, work experience, academic portfolios, and professional internships, benefiting employees in the telecommunications sector.

Under this agreement, both parties commit to actively engaging in the information and knowledge society through cooperation and content sharing, aiming to strengthen teaching and research processes and enhance educational quality.

During the signing ceremony with Telmex CEO and Chairman of the Inttelmex Board, Héctor Slim Seade, IPN General Director Arturo Reyes Sandoval celebrated this new phase in the partnership. He emphasized that maintaining the company’s leadership requires top-tier human capital, achieved by raising educational levels and fostering innovation within companies—a hallmark of the IPN.

“This marks the beginning of a new phase in a collaboration with numerous opportunities, which we believe will yield significant achievements. We are confident in our ability to work together to drive more innovation, and we are open to listening and proposing new projects that will have a positive impact and benefit the population,” he stated.

In his remarks, Héctor Slim Seade expressed gratitude for the agreement renewal and reaffirmed his commitment not only to the IPN but also to society. He highlighted that the relationship with the IPN began in 1993 and has since led to the development of degree completion projects, social service opportunities, internships, workshops, diplomas, and certifications.

Telecommunications systems, he noted, are the nervous system of nations, and IPN’s collaboration—recognized as one of the world’s top institutions in the field—is evident. Currently, 3,000 Telmex employees are IPN graduates, primarily from programs in Communications and Electronics Engineering, Public Accounting, and Commercial Relations.
