Candidate's Profile


  • Classes are given in Spanish
  • Mathematical knowledge (algebra, geometry, and trigonometry).
  • Basic computer skills.


  • Handling of computer equipment and application of creativity in all its actions.
  • Mathematical reasoning.
  • Analytical capacity for problem solving.


  • Willingness to work with information technologies to obtain and express ideas.
  • Willingness to work in a team.
  • Order information according to categories, hierarchies, and relationships.

  • Knows and values him/herself and approaches problems and challenges taking into account the objectives he/she is pursuing.

Disciplinary Competences

  • Determine the most convenient alternative for the resolution of a problem using logical and sustained criteria.

Professional Competences

  • Design algorithms that allow the solution of computational problems through methodologies, procedures, and programming tools.
  • Assembles, configures, diagnoses, and maintains a PC through a series of routines that guarantee its optimal operation.
  • Develops virtual environments in the third dimension according to the W3C Consortium.
  • Designs portals, sites, and web pages through the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) recommendations.

Academic Requirements

To enroll in the Middle Highschool with Technical Studies of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN), the applicant must comply with the requirements established by the assignment contest of the Comisión Metropolitana de Instituciones Públicas de Educación Media Superior (COMIPEMS). Once the results are published, the student must complete the enrollment process as mentioned in the call for applications.
