The National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) was recognized with the U-Gob Award 2020, for the infrastructure, technological support and the adjustments that had to be made to move from a face-to-face system to a virtual one and give continuity to its educational plans in the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
The "Teaching-Learning Academic Ecosystem supported by Technology and Modular Services" was evaluated with excellent results in the application criteria on the impact of the organization, innovation, use of resources and alignment within the framework of the National Development Plan.
The number of students enrolled, teachers in front of groups, virtual classrooms created, users attended and trained, technologies used and platforms applied, among other parameters, demonstrated the efficiency of the technological support of the IPN and made it worthy of recognition by U-Gob in the category of Innovation in Education.
Before the beginning of the pandemic, a community of 5,200 students and 350 teachers in the polytechnic virtual campus (Polyvirtual) in distance education was attended, with the implementation of the Academic Ecosystem in this period of contingency it was possible to cover all levels of the IPN with distance education.
This action was an important effort since it was possible to integrate into the platform the 210 thousand students enrolled in the three educational levels, as well as the 9 thousand 650 teachers, in addition to 400 thousand indirect students who use training services of the Institute such as languages and academic extension courses.
