Description
Nowadays, the Aeronautical Industry has high growth in the country due to the incursion of low-cost airlines into the market, as well as the establishment of companies dedicated to the manufacture and assembly of aircraft. The Aeronautics Technician career offered by the IPN develops technical professionals capable of facing the problems and the rigorous regulations demanded by the Aeronautics Industry, being aware of the importance of their work regarding the safety of air transportation.
The career has a duration of three years, is divided into six semesters, and is offered on a classroom basis.
Candidate's Profile
Classes are given in Spanish.
Incoming students must possess the necessary attitudes and values to take responsibility for their training process and play an active role in the research and development of projects and work by the ideas and principles of the IPN.

Professional Competences
- Handling and application of aeronautical sector manuals.
- Command of technical English language.
- Interpret drawings and diagrams related to this field.
- Apply maintenance programs to the power plant, structure, and aircraft systems, as well as the application of quality techniques in each stage of the tasks entrusted.
- The training of the graduate of the Aeronautical Technician career will allow the student to continue his/her studies at Higher Level and/or by taking the extracurricular Seminars-Courses where he/she will be able to obtain the certification of the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC) and thus perform in companies of the air sector of governmental and private character having as a fundamental principle the aeronautical safety.
Academic Requirements
To enroll in the Middle Highschool with Technical Studies of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN), the applicant must comply with the requirements established by the assignment contest of the Comisión Metropolitana de Instituciones Públicas de Educación Media Superior (COMIPEMS). Once the results are published, the student must complete the enrollment process as mentioned in the call for applications.
