Mechatronics Engineering

Objective

To train mechatronics engineers with the necessary skills to solve problems of design, construction, maintenance, programming and control of mechatronics systems, developing and applying new technology, with the necessary skills to develop a life and career plan with ethics, responsibility and tolerance in one’s professional and personal development environments.

Candidate’s Profile

The student who joins UPIITA, must have a solid comprehensive education, with competences in higher level Physics, Mathematics, management of information and communication technologies, basic command of English language, ability to work in team, propositive leadership attitudes, desires for improvement and an all-time conduct based on ethics, responsibility and tolerance in their environments of personal and professional development.

  • Quantify, represent and contrast experimentally or mathematically the magnitudes of space, time and physical properties of the objects that surround it.

Graduate´s profile

Mechatronics engineers are interdisciplinary professionals capable of designing, manufacturing and constructing devices and mechatronics systems, automating industrial processes, with the mastery of a second language and the ability to integrate into work teams, develop and use new technology, applied ethically and responsibly in solving the needs of the social environment and in harmony with the environment.

Academic Requirements

The requirements to be covered by the candidate for admission to the IPN are:

Sit the entry examination which is the only way to enter the National Polytechnic Institute and comply in a timely manner with each of the stages of the admission process highlighted in the call for entry to the university system at IPN and show documents such as:

  • Official certificate of higher education.
  • Certificate of secondary education.
  • Single Population Registry Key (CURP).
  • Birth certificate.
  • Pass the entry examination.
  • 6 small size photographs.

Work Field

The current work field of the engineer in Mechatronics is in companies of the automotive, manufacturing, petrochemical, metal-mechanic, food and electromechanical industries, mainly conducting design, manufacturing, programming of components and industrial systems and specialized equipment, as well as in the promotion and activation of professional services companies.​
