Objective

To train professionals in the area of Transportation Engineering who offer integral solutions to the detected problems of mobilizing goods and people, with an interdisciplinary approach to design, build, improve, explore and plan transportation systems. With an overall conception about transport so that there is consistency in driving transport processes at the corporate, national and international level.

Graduate´s profile

The Transportation Engineer of UPIICSA is an interdisciplinary professional who works in any type of public or private organization implementing and managing transport systems at national and international level, providing solutions to the problems that arise in the different modes such as air, land, rail and sea.

The Proposed Academic Program for the Degree in Transport Engineering maintains the conceptual profile of the graduate, but complements and deepens the knowledge related to the environmental impacts of mobile sources and logistics, as well as in which the graduate needs to solve the problems of transport systems in our country.

# Knowledge * Mastery of knowledge in physics, mathematics and chemistry that will allow him/her to develop theories of engineering sciences. * Ability to apply the knowledge of this discipline. * Knowledge for the qualified performance in direction, regulation, election and development of transport systems for the benefit of the country. * Application of practical conceptual tools for the analysis and solution of the strategic and operational problems of transportation management and planning. * Identification and diagnosis of transportation problems; planning of solutions compatible with urban and regional development, taking into account the social, economic and political effects of the country. * Identification of requirements and procedures for the creation, operation and modification of specific situations of the transport sector, based on acquired technical and administrative knowledge. * Management and operation of companies and public bodies and infrastructure in which national and international transport development is involved. * Development of new and more precise means to measure vehicle emissions and model the effect of transport on regional air quality. * Development of complementary applications for the maintenance and operation of transport vehicles. * Analysis and design of the logistics chain of goods and people. * Management of fleets and transportation terminals for better service delivery.

The graduate in Transport Engineering has a wide field of action in the public and private sectors and it enables him/her to perform successfully in: * Multimodal, National and International Transport Companies. * Export Companies. * Shipping Companies. * Airlines. * Transit Agencies of Loading Ports. * Companies of Integral Logistics Services, Freight Forwarders and Transport Operators. * Company with their own transport fleet. * Companies providing services for the mobilization of goods or people, classified as borrowers such as railway companies, Multipack, STC - Metro, etc. * Public sector departments and ministries such as the Communications and Transportation ministry (SCT). * Transport and Roads ministry of the City of Mexico government (SETRAVI). * Communications and Transport ministry of state governments. * Federal Telecommunications Commission (COFETEL). * Mexican Institute of Transportation. * Public Transport, Traffic, Traffic and Traffic Safety Bodies.

The Bachelor of Engineering in Transportation provides the bases to devote oneself to direct productive activity in the provision of transport service, design, planning and administration besides including the bases to become researchers and, if the case may arise, graduates can start business activities with a high professional level.

UPIICSA has therefore the objective of preparing transport professionals capable of achieving international competitiveness in Mexican transport, with a nationalist sense while serving the interests of the Mexican society.

It is important to underline that National Transportation Engineering will acquire a greater impulse as large airport infrastructure projects "Aerópolis"" and marine port ""Punta Colonet"" are being developed by the governments of the states of Hidalgo and Baja California
