The electrocumbia returns home with Raymix

Edmundo Gómez walks through the hallways he first stepped into twelve years ago; back then, it was to take his admission exam at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional. Today, he is there to share his music with hundreds of people gathered in front of an impressive stage at the "Jaime Torres Bodet" Cultural Center. The excitement is evident on his face, and the crowd chants the name that has made him famous and earned him a Billboard award: Raymix.

Dressed in a white suit, similar to the one used by astronauts, the young man from San José el Vidrio, State of Mexico, heads to the stage. Before going up, in an interview, he confesses to feeling very excited to return home, "to the polytechnic community, as always, to give my respects because we are a great institution".

With one foot on the ladder to start the show, he reaffirms that "being a Polytechnic represents my formation, what I know, what I have learned, the high school and university that gave me the knowledge that has allowed me to invent various entertainment things combined with my Engineering career; it's something I will be grateful for all my life."

The electronic rhythms start to play, in a characteristic blend of electrocumbia that has allowed Raymix to perform on big stages in other countries. The lights announce the imminent beginning, the dancers take the stage, and the audience identifies which song will open this night of rhythms, that melody even recommended by the President of the Republic in one of his morning conferences: "Oye Mujer."

Couples scattered around begin to dance, and the atmosphere explodes like the fireworks that adorn the start of the show. Between songs, Raymix thanks his colleagues and professors, the Polytechnic community; he reminisces about his time at CECyT 8 "Narciso Bassols," where he pursued a technical career in Industrial Maintenance, and later entered ESIME Ticomán to study Aeronautical Engineering.

The multifaceted artist delights the audience playing keyboard, drums and piano; the dancers impose even more rhythm; special guests such as rapper C-Kan do not disappoint and make the hour and a half show go by in a flash.

Raymix says goodbye to his audience waving a Politécnico flag, his alma mater. This artist with more than 2 billion plays on the platform knows that wherever electrocumbia takes him, the IPN will accompany him in his cherry red and white heart.
