IPN and UAM Strengthen Collaborative Work

Rocío Castañeda

The Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) and the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) signed a general collaboration agreement to develop research, innovation, and technological projects with social impact, that provide solutions to specific and complex social problems. The agreement was signed by the two institutions in this university's Former General Directors' Hall.

Through the "IPN-UAM Research Consortium", the bases and mechanisms were established to promote training, mobility, consultancy, events, and publications that impact the agenda for the country's scientific and technological development, through the creation of working groups made up of researchers from both institutions.

Mexico City's Secretariat of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation will be part of this effort to promote joint and cooperative work to solve issues affecting Mexico City, which will allow it to support projects for two years.

IPN has 12 research and graduate networks that bring together over 700 academics from various units and research centers, while UAM also has 12 networks with specialists from its different campuses. For the Polytechnic, expanding collaboration with sister educational institutions is crucial, making this initiative a testament to the shared belief that education, research, and science communication are fundamental pillars for sustainable development and the construction of a better future.

For the Politécnico, expanding collaboration with partner educational institutions is fundamental.
