Program objectives

To train specialists at the highest level to develop analytical and numerical skills with an ecosystem approach, to perform modeling, analysis and bioeconomic evaluation of fisheries and aquaculture production processes, to influence decision making regarding the establishment of catch quotas, distribution of fishing effort, allocation of access rights to fishery resources, closed seasons, optimal catch or harvest times and economic optimization, among others.
