Objective

To train Nursing Human Resources capable of assuming with strong Polytechnic pride and high professional quality the performance of the integrated professional competencies indicated in the graduate profiles according to the needs of the national population that the National Polytechnic Institute, through its College of Nursing and Midwifery is committed to serving.

Candidate's Profile

Upon entering the School, students must have the basic knowledge and skills of the previous level, "with the guarantee of an adequate performance; in addition, they must demonstrate with the necessary attitudes and values the responsibility for their training process, assuming an active position".

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of basic areas by having completed, and approved studies of Higher Middle Level in the medical-biological area or similar, and passing the Institutional admission exam according to its regulations.

Graduate's profile

IPN graduates will have a solid comprehensive education, with general scientific and technological knowledge, so they will be able to perform in different fields, as well as to adequately combine theory and practice in their professional field. They will have developed the necessary skills to perform in inter- and multidisciplinary work environments, teamwork, and leadership. All graduates will have received an education based on ethical values and responsibility, which will make them aware and open to change, to the needs of society, and the sustainable development of the nation. They will have a humanistic scientific preparation and a broad sense of social solidarity, so that they will be able to enhance the capacity of self-care of the female population in reproductive health, with high professional quality in the performance of the Disciplinary, Interdisciplinary, Investigative, and social work competencies, established in this graduate profile, according to the health needs of the population.

These competencies will be developed throughout the career through the academic dynamics of the ESEO community and the implementation of different learning units that integrate the career map, however, they are defined as having a direct impact on the development of these competencies.

Academic Requirements

The requirements to become a student at the Institute are:

  1. To comply with the academic background and other requirements indicated in the respective call for applications.
  2. To take the admission exam for the higher level.
  3. To be selected for admission.

Work Field

Health Centers and General Hospitals Universities and Institutes Educational Centers Companies Family Medicine Units Laboratories and in the Freedom to exercise a profession in nursing offices and assistance to people at home.
