Telematics Engineering


To form professionals able to design, develop, improve, administrate and operate systems involving information processing, storing and transmission/reception.

Candidate’s Profile

The candidate must know about physics, chemistry and mathematics both the theory and the practice as well as the use of computing tools needed for an engineer. In addition, the candidate must be qualified to assemble circuits or to check his/her designed product, and must not only know the structure of a technic report but also how to create and read technical drawing.

The candidate must be qualified to adapt and find solutions to new situations, develop problem solving criteria by analysing and synthesizing, have a spirit of observation to do research on the how and why phenomena occur and creativity either to find solutions to a particular problem or to create a new product.

The candidate must have the following personal attributions:

Seriousness, respect and desire to excel, ability to coordinate and properly express ideas, a high common sense which allows discerning engineering concepts and criteria as well as an interdisciplinary integration capability.

Graduate´s profile

The graduate is an interdisciplinary professional with a strong formation in telecommunication and information systems to design, improve, administrate and operate systems where necessary to process, store, transmit and receive data, voice and video with a responsible attitude and in accordance to current laws in informatics and telecommunications. In addition, the alumnus will be able to either take part in or be the leader of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary working groups in both public and private organizations in need of process information automatization while seeking the best solution through knowledge integration and continuously updated. The graduated will be able to speak and write with a formal register in both Spanish and English.

Academic Requirements

Comply in a timely manner with each of the stages of the admission process highlighted in the call for entry to the university system at IPN and show documents such as:

  • High school Certificate.
  • Secondary School Certificate.
  • Unique Code of Population Registration (CURP).
  • Birth certificate.
  • Pass the entry examination.
  • 6 credential photographs
