IPN and INM Sign Strategic Agreement to Benefit Students

Under a three-year general collaboration agreement, Polytechnic students will complete social service and professional internships at the migration agency while driving technological innovation in immigration systems.

The Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) and the National Migration Institute (Instituto Nacional de Migración, INM) have signed a General Collaboration Agreement that opens opportunities for Polytechnic students to fulfill their social service requirements and complete professional internships within the federal agency.

Valid for three years, the framework agreement establishes the foundation for specific technical partnerships designed to facilitate knowledge transfer, optimize shared resources, and drive technological, academic, and administrative innovation.

Under the agreement, signed at INM headquarters, the IPN will contribute technical expertise in digital transformation, logistics, and data security to modernize immigration procedures. The collaboration aims to streamline administrative workflows, enhance data management and analytics, and reinforce cybersecurity infrastructure across national migration systems.

During the signing ceremony, IPN Director General Arturo Reyes Sandoval emphasized the strategic value of combining technical capabilities, aligning the initiative with Mexico’s broader push toward transparent, efficient, and secure digital governance.

"We are deeply pleased to formalize a collaborative agreement with the National Migration Institute for the first time," Reyes Sandoval stated. "This act consolidates a strategic alliance oriented toward maximizing our human, material, and financial resources for innovation, technological development, and knowledge creation."

Highlighting the immediate benefits for the student body, Reyes Sandoval noted that the partnership creates valuable practical training opportunities.

"Our objective is to open spaces where students can solidify their academic training with hands-on experience," he added. "Polytechnic students possess comprehensive technical preparation alongside a deeply social and human orientation that will bring genuine value to the daily operations of this institute. Through our specialized research units in information technology, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and cybersecurity, we will contribute to designing cutting-edge solutions that strengthen the operational efficiency of the National Migration Institute."

A Strategic Alliance for Modernization

INM Commissioner Sergio Salomón Céspedes Peregrina welcomed the partnership, characterizing it as a major strategic opportunity for the national government.

"To speak of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional is to speak of an essential institution for the development of our country—one defined by public educational excellence, scientific research, and technological innovation," Céspedes Peregrina remarked. "For decades, the Polytechnic has educated generations of professionals, scientists, researchers, and technologists who have driven Mexico’s national transformation."

Céspedes Peregrina outlined the INM’s ongoing modernization goals, emphasizing efforts to build an efficient, modern, and humane institution capable of managing human mobility in an orderly, secure, and regular manner with full respect for human rights.

"When two major Mexican institutions combine their capabilities, expertise, and shared commitment, the ultimate beneficiary is Mexico," he concluded.

Adriana Rebeca Galindo Sánchez, INM General Director of Administration, closed the event by recognizing the alliance as the beginning of a productive, long-term working relationship between two of the country's prominent public institutions.
