Specialists from Life Chiropractic College West provide free consultations and care through Wednesday to address musculoskeletal and spine issues.
If you suffer from lower back pain, migraines, sciatica, or neck discomfort, you can receive free specialized care at the National School of Medicine and Homeopathy (Escuela Nacional de Medicina y Homeopatía, ENMyH) of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN). The institution has opened its doors for the Chiropractic Health Days—a joint initiative with Life Chiropractic College West (LCCW) aimed at both the Polytechnic community and the general public.
Organized by the Secretariat of Innovation and Social Integration through the Directorate of International Relations, in collaboration with ENMyH and LCCW, the initiative forms part of IPN's international outreach strategy to bring tangible healthcare benefits to local communities.
Running through Wednesday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the sessions take place at the "Dr. Joaquín Segura y Pesado" Sports Center inside the ENMyH campus, located at Av. Guillermo Massieu Helguera 239, La Purísima Ticomán, Gustavo A. Madero, Mexico City.
Specialists at the event evaluate and treat various musculoskeletal conditions that limit mobility and daily well-being, including:
Lower back pain (lumbalgia)
Tension headaches and migraines
Sciatic nerve pain
Neck discomfort and postural strain
Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and flexible footwear to facilitate mobility assessments and spinal adjustments.
Dr. Larry Thill, faculty mentor for the visiting team from Life Chiropractic College West, explained that chiropractic care focuses on evaluating and correcting spinal misalignments (subluxations) that interfere with the nervous system. Proper alignment, he noted, helps restore mobility, improve posture, optimize nervous system function, and alleviate persistent discomfort.
While surgery remains necessary for structural or severe conditions, Dr. Thill emphasized that chiropractic care offers an effective, non-invasive alternative for many patients. He noted that physical factors such as occupational strain, daily repetitive motions, posture habits, and pregnancy frequently cause vertebral misalignments that impact overall bodily function.
Dr. Thill highlighted that LCCW's partnership with IPN has strengthened over the past five years, offering a valuable opportunity to introduce non-invasive spinal care to broader segments of the Mexican population. Nine student interns are participating under his mentorship to deliver free care while raising public awareness about the discipline.
During the opening ceremony, ENMyH Director Marco Antonio Martínez Silva emphasized that the initiative deepens international collaboration, promotes the exchange of clinical perspectives, and opens new avenues for academic cooperation and community service.
He added that hosting specialists and students from Life Chiropractic College West reflects ENMyH's commitment to integrating international expertise into its facilities, allowing Polytechnic students to observe global clinical practices and expand their vision of integrative healthcare alternatives.
